Salary Apprentice Rate - 120 per week 37 hours per week fixed 15
month contract
Applicants for this post will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the
Criminal Records Bureau.
We are looking for a young person with a demonstrable enthusiasm for
conservation, countryside management and the environment and history of
Newark and Sherwood. You will be part of a team dedicated to maintaining
the District Councils parks, nature reserves, play areas, playing
fields and amenity areas to a high standard.
You must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, accept varied
duties, be flexible in your approach to work and have the ability to
adapt to any changes or additions to your workload. You should have
English and Maths GCSE or equivalent, giving literacy and numeracy
sufficient to read and understand instructions, and ideally some
horticultural knowledge.
You will be working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Environmental
Conservation.
People with a Level 4 or higher qualification are not
eligible.
In addition you must have a demonstrable enthusiasm for nature
conservation, plants and the environment with a desire and the ability
to recognise the learning opportunities offered by this post.
